Mixing traditional furniture with modern day style was the goal of this project. Incorporating traditional furniture presented a challenge but I enjoyed making it happen. Sometimes we have furniture that is meaningful or too expensive to replace. Maybe the furniture does not quite fit our style, but we work with it to create a beautiful space that clients can appreciate.
Vintage details can be interesting and fun to work with but can also be a challenge to find pieces to style alongside them that add our own personal touch to the room. That it is exactly what we had to do to put this project together. Lighter and much brighter but still a traditional meets modern vibe!

This project turned into a collection of bright, vibrant colors mixed with the traditional style furniture. This transitional remodel was brought back to life after being struck by Hurricane Harvey. I had the opportunity to style their dining room, living room, and wine room using sentimental pieces they didn’t want to part with.
I am glad to finally share what we came up with to bring this house back to a beautiful, colorful home! My client had two requests—to accent with coral colors and to use their existing traditional style furniture.

In the dining room, we used their original table and chairs and added these tall vases full of hydrangeas. We also used custom, colorful abstract artwork to make a bold statement. The chairs are a big statement and I didn’t want to take away from that. We styled the table with these simple yet gorgeous arrangements so that we didn’t create any distractions.
Wine Room
This wine room included a traditional buffet that needed a modern day twist to make it feel at home! I styled this buffet using a variety of metallic mirrors to incorporate a modern and vintage style.
