MRI Christmas 2025
The holiday season is here, and I couldn’t be more excited to share how I approach Christmas decorating in 2025. For me, it’s never about following fleeting trends or creating a picture-perfect display. Instead, I focus on layering textures, incorporating natural elements, and adding personal touches that make my home feel warm, inviting, and uniquely ours.
In my recent CNN article, I talked about how I lean into “quiet luxury” when decorating for the holidays. This means choosing pieces that feel timeless and intentional—soft metallics, natural greenery, and quality craftsmanship that bring a sense of calm and elegance to the season. Let me take you through my home and share how I’ve brought this philosophy to life this year.
A Grand Welcome: The Front Entry
The first thing guests see when they arrive is our front entry, and I wanted it to feel festive yet understated.
The oversized black door is framed by lush greenery, creating a natural, organic look. I added silver spheres for a touch of shine that beautifully reflects the greenery and light.
Potted plants and birch branches add height and texture, while the wood-paneled ceiling brings warmth to the space.
It’s a modern take on holiday decor that feels grounded and welcoming.

The Living Room: Layers of Comfort and Light
Our living room is where we spend most of our time during the holidays, so it’s important that it feels cozy and inviting. This year, I kept the Christmas tree simple, letting its natural beauty shine. The tree is lightly flocked and adorned with warm white lights, creating a soft glow that complements the room’s neutral palette.
I paired the tree with two shearling-covered chairs, which add texture and coziness. The mix of materials—wood, fabric, and greenery—creates a layered look that feels effortless yet intentional. The large windows bring in natural light, making the space feel open and airy, even with the holiday decor.

Hallway Details: Subtle and Elegant
In the hallway, I kept things simple but impactful. A garland draped along the doorframe is accented with metallic ornaments, adding just the right amount of sparkle. A frosted wreath hangs on the door, tying the look together. In the background, a lighted tree adds a magical glow, creating a sense of depth and warmth as you move through the space.

The Mantel: A Cozy Focal Point
The fireplace mantel is always a favorite spot to decorate, and this year I went for a mix of natural and metallic elements. A lush garland of greenery is accented with gold and silver details, creating a rich, layered look. Personalized white fur stockings hang from the mantel, adding a soft, cozy touch.

I love how the garland drapes asymmetrically, giving it a more organic feel. The fire adds a warm glow, making this corner of the room feel like the heart of the home during the holidays.

A Touch of Drama: The Console Table
One of my favorite vignettes this year is the console table. A rustic wood table is paired with modern brass lamps, creating a striking contrast. Above it, a simple greenery wreath hangs against a bold, abstract piece of art. The mix of textures—wood, metal, greenery, and glass—adds depth and interest, while the neutral tones keep it feeling cohesive.

This space is an excellent example of how I like to balance bold statement pieces with quieter, more subtle details. It’s all about creating harmony and letting each element shine in its own way.
Why I Decorate This Way
For me, Christmas decorating is about more than just making things look pretty. It’s about creating a home that feels warm, inviting, and personal. I love incorporating natural elements like greenery and wood because they bring a sense of calm and connection to the outdoors. Adding layers of texture—whether it’s a shearling chair, a velvet ribbon, or a metallic ornament—makes the space feel rich and cozy.
And while I don’t follow trends, I do love finding ways to make my decor feel fresh and updated. This year, that meant leaning into soft metallics, asymmetrical designs, and a mix of modern and rustic elements. It’s a look that feels timeless yet current, and most importantly, it feels like home.
