Are you ready for some football? Some Saturday, football? That was me singing to you; you’re welcome! College football, that’s what fall is really about, right? This weekend we threw an epic football party to celebrate Nick’s birthday.
We fired up the margarita machine, set out all the appetizers, catered Mexican food, and hosted a bag tournament that everyone will be talking about for a long time! I threw in simple & easy party decor that will have your guests hoping for overtime! All the makings for an epic football-themed party.
Eat. Drink. Football.
Food & Drinks
Now that we have an outdoor area we can enjoy, we took the party outdoors; the kids swam while the adults enjoyed adult beverages and food. I love hosting parties and setting up beautiful food and drink displays that perfectly fit the theme. Simple is always my style, but adding a few items takes the setting to the next level.

Adding extra themed items, such as this letter board, footballs, and a turf tablecloth, takes it to the next level. I prefer not to go overboard with the themed décor because it feels a bit cheesy. Less is more (I may quote that in just about every blog post I write)!

Think Of All Your Guests
When hosting a party to entertain both adults and kids, I make sure to consider everyone’s needs so that everyone has a fun time.

Outdoor Games
I set out several outdoor games for the kids (including all the Nerf guns), stocked the pool with glowing and oversized floats, and made sure the grass was cut so the boys could play whiffle ball. What’s a party without baseball, anyway?

Nick insisted on hosting the “First Annual Bag Tournament.” He loves playing bag toss with his buddies, so he set up an oversized board with a bracket laid out. The men were a little competitive. There were a lot of penalty flags thrown, which means we laughed… a lot.

No football party is complete without the perfect outfit! Let’s party all season long! On three, let’s all yell, “Roll Tide” together. One, two, three…. ROLL TIDE!

Hosting a party does not have to be stressful. Take the time to plan your food and beverage (F&B) options and activities. ALWAYS let someone help if they ask! Even getting ready for the party can be a party in itself. We wait not so patiently for college football season to start, and if you are like us, you want to celebrate it being back, too! So invite all your friends over for a super-easy and fun football-themed party!
